Do you want to become better at event planning? We've put together these essential steps just for you. Make sure you've checked them all!

Though we can't identify exactly all of the details you’ll need to have in mind, since much of it will depend on the type of event you are holding, we can suggest some of the best practices that are important to follow for any event.

1. Develop Your Event Goal and Objectives

Obviously, you can't start planning your event without the main goal and objectives in mind!

First, start by asking yourself: Why are you organizing this event, and what do you hope to achieve?

If you already are familiar with your organization’s key goals before planning, you can ensure that every part of your event is optimized for success.

Also, setting a goal with quantifiable metrics of success will make it much easier for you and your team to ensure that you'll reach them.

2. Determine The Big Day Processes

Once you’ve prepared everything going on around the event, such as: setting the date, booking your Venue (if you are not organizing this at an already preset place), identifying and establishing partnerships & sponsors, etc. planning out your program, and keeping track of the order of the event itself is the next step.

Prepare an agenda to ensure you’re ready for anything. This will walk you through the whole day from setup to cleanup. Make sure to write down every detail, no matter how small, it will help you feel like you have it all under control!

Identifying just who needs to do what, you can also ensure that there’s clear accountability leading up to the event.

3. Don't forget about the after Big Day Process

You have everything planned, all the details are noted down on your agenda, but what about when the whole event is over?

This is also an important part of the planning and you have to keep an eye on how long this process can take.

Let us give you a friendly tip! If the event's setting allows you, try replacing ordinary chairs and tables with foldable ones. This is really helpful, considering that everything can be simply folded and stored in a mobile chair & table trolley when all the guests go home.
